I have been working professionally as a woodcarver and artist since 2011. I now live in Wiltshire, and complete private and public commissions for clients based in the UK and abroad.
Here I am carving bench pieces for an exterior installation of Romanesque benches at Pancras Lane in central London.
Sculptural installations are set to redefine our cultural landscape.
After leaving my south-west London upbringing, I studied in Newcastle-upon-Tyne, graduating in History of Modern, Art, Design and Film. I also had a studio there where I mainly created figurative sculpture in stone and clay. I was also a street painter – chalking my designs on the pavements outside Fenwicks in Eldon Square.
After working at the Newcastle Chronicle & Journal for a short while, I moved to Barcelona, where I began a building renovations company with other professionals. Alongside this I had an arts studio in the Jazz music area near St.Antoni where I painted large installation backdrops for festivals and clubs. These were accompanied by my large-scale sculptural installation pieces.
I was commissioned to create art installations for entertainment spaces such as; Festa Majors, O2 in Zona Franca, Club Cyberian, Tasmanian Records, Circosis, Colors of the Universe in the Olympic stadium, as well as for my own arts company – The Telepathy Experience.
I left Barcelona in 2003, and after a long spell traveling and living in other countries in Asia, Africa, the Middle East, and South America, I returned to London and completed my graduate and postgraduate diplomas in Woodcarving at the City & Guilds of London Art School. After four years of study I received Distinctions (Firsts) in both qualifications in addition to numerous awards from the Carpenters Company, David Ballardie Memorial, and the Chelsea Arts Club, among others.
